Tiffany Lambert loves her husband, but she doesn't understand his need to gamble. When the married couple can't pay their rent, they are invited over to their landlord's opulent house to work something out.
Their landlord is a man named Frank Sinclair. Frank is an older black man who immediately takes a keen interest in Tiffany.
While Tiffany's husband is kept busy with yard work, Frank begins to work his schemes on the innocent white wife. He goes so far as to buy Tiffany a beautiful dress once belonging to the wife of Robert E. Lee. But when Tiffany agrees to try the dress on sparks begin to fly.
