James Baldwin was an American editor and prolific writer, mostly known as the children's author in the subjects of legends, mythology, biography. “Other Wise Men of Gotham” is a tale about the peasants of Gotham, who once known, that the King is going to pass through the town, decide to feign imbecility – the King is a cruel, bad man, so if he would come to their town, the peasants should have to find food and lodging for him and his men; and if he would see anything that pleased him, he would be sure to take it for his own.
