The eyes were bright, lighting my body slowly from my feet to my head, as if scanning me for invisible data. Finally the orange beams focused on my face, two on my forehead, and the other two shone directly into my eyes. Strangely enough I wasn’t blinded by the light, but instead I could see clearly, as if given an insight into another world or another life. I saw what I thought to be a perforated soul, twisting and struggling violently. It had the color of molten lava, and it was shackled to a wall of shadows. It stopped upon noticing me and immediately became darker, until its light had completely faded and it blended in with the shadowed wall. Horror beyond the prison fence!

It’s no secret that I suffer from insomnia, but this time the vision seemed so real, because it was!

This is a frightening short story, relating to actual psychopathic events.
