The eleven chapters in this book describe my bicycle journey from Montana, across Alberta, British Columbia and The Yukon to Alaska with eleven other cyclists from Belgium, Israel and the United States-officially called the North Star Expedition and sponsored by Adventure Cycling Association.
In this book I describe my initial limited experience at long-distance bicycle travel as well as my joys, doubts, fears, difficulties and friendships encountered along the way as well as the many places I visited and enjoyed. In addition, you will learn how I prepared for this challenging trip, and how I coped with the initial lack of physical fitness, inclement weather conditions, and stressful interpersonal relationships. This book is intended for readers who love bicycling as well as for armchair travelers who enjoy reading about the challenges I faced during my journey.
In a special section at the end of the book, I include a complete inventory of the equipment I used during the expedition.
