Bridgette Tate is a single, successful prosecuting attorney. As the only daughter of a school teacher and prominent Illinois Supreme Court judge, she knows that she is blessed. There are a few things that are very close to her heart — her relationship with God, her work as an attorney, her support and sponsorship of a shelter for abused women and children — and Rene Anthony Davis. Bridgette fell in love with Rene during their senior year in high school, and she is thoroughly convinced that he is the man that God created just for her. While Bridgette remains hopelessly devoted to Rene, two other men are competing for her heart — Kevon McMillan, a successful attorney who Bridgette met in law school, and Larry Anderson, a law enforcement officer and friend who has been hired by Rene to protect Bridgette. Time is passing quickly — will Bridgette make the right choice — for her heart and her future?

Rene Anthony Davis is a multifaceted man who’s got a number of issues that he’s trying to work through. He’s on a personal mission to avenge the murder of his father, and he continues to struggle with feelings of guilt associated with the deaths of other loved ones. Since Rene has experienced such traumatic losses, he has become ruthless and cynical, and tries to deny his personal needs and desires. He has no time for love. But he always seems to find time to play super hero to friends, acquaintances, and even strangers. All of this amounts to Rene having a lot of ongoing drama in his life.

Rene’s obsession with vengeance, along with his efforts to conquer his own personal demons and help his friends, may be leading him away from what’s really important, and what can ultimately help him — the love and support of a good woman.
