Nigeria was a promising country when it gained independence in 1960 and showed steady growth and good performance until 1966 when the military struck and destabilized the nation. But over thirty years since the war ended and fourteen unbroken years of democratic governance since 1999, the anticipated growth and development have not been realized and in some respects, things have gotten worse, despite flashes of improvement in some areas. Unemployment is still very high at 24% and crime has become one of the fastest growing industries in our country. At home, Nigerians are unhappy with the situation and abroad, they have lost national dignity as we are seen as a largely corrupt country with predatory leaders and a complacent and indolent citizenry who are all working to bring the country to its knees with a possible disintegration.

This book seeks to challenge every Nigerian to arise and build the nation of their dreams. It deals with several issues including the restructuring of the nation. It provides practical advice on what we must do as a people to take our place in the comity of nations. If there is any book that the leadership of Nigeria and indeed every Nigerian must read, it is this.
