This e-book contains the best poems that I have written on a specific subject, namely, the natural world. Some treat the natural world directly; in others, the imagery is taken from the natural world.. The work begins with a prelude that reveals the nature of the work. This is followed by three poems treating the wonders of nature: the prairie wind, the harvest moon, and a peaceful night scene when the world is asleep. The next section is entitled “Nature and Romance. It contains seven poems. Some of the titles are “I Walked in Paradise Alone,” “The Queen of the Spring,” and “For Thee, and None Other.” The next section treats problems in nature, such as the mating practices of the praying mantis and a haiku focusing on the quills of the porcupine. The final section is entitled “Nature and the Poet.” It contains three poems: “The Craft of Poetry,” “Pure White Sands,” and an imaginative haiku showing the essence of poetry.
