Murder Never Sleeps in Toronto

Sue Ellison is Canada's favourite female private detective. Her goal in life is to find the right guy, settle down and raise a family. Sue live with a boy-friend for 5 months, she knows what it is to have a man in her life and in her bed. She also knows there's only one way to determine if they are compatible. Some men fail that test. Sue and  her partner, retired RCMP Constable Evan Kelly are hired to look into the suspicious middle-of-the-night death of a trucking company executive. When Sue visits the location she realizes it is the warehouse she worked night shift while attending day classes in criminology. Two sinister-looking individuals are turned away at the Security Gate after demanding entry. Sue gets suspicious 'phone calls threatening her life. The President of the Co. has a life-threatening stroke, his wife hires round-the-clock nurses and the family begin bickering about his estate. One adult child is gay, another is written off by the family as a hopeless drug addict, a third daughter is in the midst of a divorce. Mother bought a Lamborghini to spite her husband after finding him 'flagrante delecto' with a female driver. For the first time in her career Sue has to pull her service pistol to quell a threat.
