Deep in the wilderness of the Washington timberlands the mutilated body of Ralph Allinson lay for months before it was accidentally discovered by a local lumberjack. A short time later police came across another decomposing body in dense undergrowth which bore similar marks to the first one, leading detectives to believe they were dealing with a double murder, probably carried out by the same killer. With almost no clues to go on, police were first faced with the difficult task of initially identifying the badly decomposed victims, and then identifying and apprehending their brutal attacker. Only dilligent detective work and overwhelming circumstantial evidence led to the eventual capture and execution of the murderer.
