“Mullyangah the Morning Star” is one of numerous Australian legends collected by Catherine Parker narrating about Mullyan, the eagle hawk which lived in a high yaraan tree apart from his tribe with his family. For Mullyan was a cannibal he had to satisfy his cannibal cravings using a big spear about four times bigger than an ordinary spear. So, he used to kill black fellows hunting alone, but some day many black fellows were slain that their friends determined to find out what became of them and they tracked the last one they missed and he followed them to the foot of the yaraan tree. What happened next you will know having read the story.
