The Triad Dragon Master receives an anonymous letter: 'ONE MILLION DOLLARS OR FEBRUARY DIES, WHEN WE CALL HAVE MONEY READY IN SMALL USED NOTES' There are no clues and no leads but somehow Jack traces the beautiful Chinese girl, February Ling, to a Chinese take away where he is surrounded by Chinese youths and goes into action:

From the book: The front door opened and two Chinese youths entered, I had to act quickly. I jumped from the counter, threw one through the glass window and I knocked the other one out cold. The two youths who had been hanging about the back ran around to the front and entered, I kicked one of them where he would remember it for a long time and grabbed the other, twisted his arm up behind his back and smashed him down on the counter top.
'Had enough!' I shouted.
'Fuck,' said a muffled voice in a broad Australian accent, 'we only came in for a fucking chicken chow mein.'

Reviews: The latest instalment of Jack Hamma and his detective agency is currently my favourite. Whilst reading this I had a thought, the style of writing is similar to Douglas Adams' Dirk Gently, but slightly more sensible. In my opinion Anthony Thorogood is fast becoming the King of Banter, the pace of the book is fast and this is matched by the pace of the humour. Very funny with a nice tidy storyline. And as for the ending, it had me going oooooooh!!!

What a great read. Action from start to finish. Jack is a real Australian bloke, strong, fit and sexy as hell. He's got principles too! He doesn't really need Miss Marple's help, but it's just as well she's there. I can't wait for the next adventure.

…it ended with a twist that took me utterly by surprise.
