Document from the year 2013 in the subject History - Miscellaneous, , language: English, abstract: Emigration records of the mayor´s offices Lützellinden and Rechtenbach in the Wetzlar County (formerly part of the Koblenz Administrative Region in the Prussian Rhine Province) have been transcribed and evaluated. The documents held by 'Hessisches Hauptstaatsarchiv Wiesbaden' cover the period 1819-1915 and contain emigration applications of Prussian citizens most of which intended to immigrate to North America. Only few of the applicants immigrated to England, Argentina, and Australia. The applicants were residents of the villages Allendorf/Lahn, Bechlingen, Dornholzhausen, Ebersgöns, Großen-Linden, Großrechtenbach, Hochelheim, Hörnsheim, Kleinrechtenbach, Lützellinden, Münchholzhausen, Niederkleen, Niederwetz, Oberkleen, Oberquembach, Reiskirchen, Schwalbach, Vollnkirchen, Volpertshausen, Weidenhausen and the town Gießen. In the present paper the applicants / emigrants are listed alphabetically by last name and numbered consecutively (001-305). The annotations added comprise relevant informations extracted from the documents examined. Supplementary informations have been taken from church records. As far as possible the following items are recorded for each applicant: names of accompanying relatives, date and place of birth, place of residence, date of application, and year of emigration. These genealogical data provide the basis for locating the immigrant´s arrival port and ultimate destination and thus will help descendants find their roots. The majority of the emigrants listed here can be identified easily in ships´ passenger lists, census records, and other genealogy resources. The paper concludes with a locality index.
