This book “Me And A Short Line” is a book of poems that were written in prison. It contains the thoughts of a man tormented by his failures in life, his loves, his family, and his successes. Long after a man regrets his crimes he realizes that you can’t take anything away from him that he can’t earn back except time. How much blood do we need from a man in prison before he pays for his crime? Only God can see how wrong we are. If every family in this United States knew a family member or friend that was in prison and could see how it affects everyone around them maybe changes could be made to help convicts in society. Slavery was abolished in 1864 and it took a hundred years to make it so will society wait that long to see how much a waste of a human being prisons make?
