Obtaining a marriage that will last is not as easy as it sounds nor is it as hard as it sounds. So many couples, younger or older, enter into marriage with so many misconceptions. They have been taught by television from a young age that all problems are solved in a half hour. They are taught that there is a crowd that will laugh with them when they are funny and cry when they are sad. This is far from the truth.

Marriage is much more than a piece of paper. When you say vows to each other, you also say them to God. This changes your relationship. Even if you have lived together before making your vows, you both have entered into a bond that is meant to last forever. Many cannot figure out why their marriage didn’t make it after they said their vows even though they lived together for years. Many couples enter this already with the mindset that if this doesn’t work “Oh well, we can start over with someone else.” You don’t have to. You can make your marriage last.

This book will not solve all your problems. It will help. It is meant to help you along your new journey. From years of personal experience, and when I say personal experience, I mean making all the wrong decisions! I pray that when you make the wrong decision, you will refer back to this book, and this will be a guideline to bring you both closer to each other, making your bond even stronger every time. It will take both of you, making the decision that you are going to make this work.

This book is advice told from a father’s perspective to his son and “new” daughter in-law. It approaches the subject with humor and love.
