The Graf Zeppelin” would cross the Atlantic 140 times and its commanders and crew were given the thrill and honor of two New York City ticker-tape parades, a feat that has never been repeated. Passengers were offered fine food and spacious accommodations as the airship flew at an altitude of normally only 300 meters, over the North Pole, Egypt or even Around the World. It was the most successful Zeppelin that ever flew.
