"Beloved, if God loved us so [very much], we also ought to love one another. 1John 4:11"
"SEE WHAT [an incredible] quality of love the Father has given (shown, bestowed on) us, that we should [be permitted to] be named and called and counted the children of God! And so we are! The reason that the world does not know (recognize, acknowledge) us is that it does not know (recognize, acknowledge) Him." 1John 3:1
Seeing the magnitude of the unprecedented love that transformed us from debtors and enemies to sons, we should fulfill the desire of the Father! Jesus affirmed that this is the Father’s desire when He pointed out in His answer to the scribes’ questions of the greatest law in Matthew 22:37-40.
"And He replied to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind (intellect). [Deut. 6:5.]
This is the great (most important, principal) and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbour as [you do] yourself. [Lev. 19:18.]
These two commandments sum up and upon them depend all the Law and the Prophets." Matthew 22:37-40
Simple and straightforward – love God and love your neighbours as yourself and all the laws would have been fulfilled. Scriptures say in another place that love is the fulfilling of the law. (Romans 13:8).
Everything Jesus commanded His Church to do therefore; must be hinged on love!
