Within the past year, I set the lofty goal of mastering the art of love. According to Malcolm Gladwell, skill mastery requires ten thousand hours of practice. I pulled out my calculator and punched in some numbers. At eight hours a day, seven days a week, I could be a love master in approximately 3.434 years! All I have to do to accomplish this ambitious feat is to love and to love some more, even when I would rather not! The writing is raw; it is soul exposure for the sake of self and others. I am assuming we can relate to one another or at least, this is my hope. My motivation to become a love master stemmed from a keen and painful awareness of my own lack of training in the noble ways of handling difficult situations and interactions with other humans. I know there is a better way, a godly way. Jesus came to show us how and he is the perfect example of the excellence we can live.
