Some time in the 16th Century, K'Ogalo, an eccentric medicine man from the western Lwo Kingdom, predicted the coming of men who paled under the sun and carried magical sticks that spat fire. He warned the people of his time not to reject or fight the foreigners. Instead, counselled restraint and advised them to learn the pale men's modern ways and eventually use this knowledge to expel them from their lands.

When the pale men arrived and settled in the plush Highlands aided by the Lwos, the Drymen, warrior nation from the Southern Drylands, ignored the prophecy and attempted to retake the lush lands. They failed, suffering great loss and the grim fate of subjugation under the pale men who crushed the uprising with maxim guns, the very sticks that spat fire.

In 1817, two centuries after his famous prophecy, K'Ogalo the Bishop of Kanyanwa makes another chilling prediction; the era of the boy who carries death is at hand!
