We’ve been driving for hours and finally feel far and safe enough from the mob, to pull over to rest, eat and relieve ourselves. I remind them that we couldn’t completely stop, until we were at a permanent location and out of danger from the mob that could be closer than we knew. Everyone agreed, so we got gas and loaded up the car with essentials to help us along our way. I took the wheel so the Mr. could sleep until we got closer to the place we would dwell and rebuild our home.

After a few weeks of getting adjusted to our new surroundings, I was able to think clearer and gain focus on how we’ll proceed with the rest of our lives. The men and older girls, 2, 4 and 5, all have jobs. Everyone wanted to start off doing the right thing. Not that I didn’t want to do what’s right, but as long as we still have over a million dollars, I refuse to work. If the other’s want to continue to build on our net worth, who in the whole hell am I to stop them. Someone has to stay and watch the place. I vote me. And #6 mopes around here as if she’s lost her best friend and sometimes her mind. She sits quietly in her chalet all day. Staring out the window, as if she’s expecting someone to show up any minute now.
