Dolores Weybridge has been married 35 years to Roger, and in all that time they've bonded and have always made up after arguments, until now. Roger isn't talking to her after a row, only Dolores can't remember what it was about, so she can't mention it and can't work out how to put it right. Her tears bring her dead sister, Geraldine, to visit her. Geraldine suggests that Dolores bring some oomph into her marriage by showing Roger that there's 'life in the old dog' yet. And to do this by romancing Roger again, and reliving their old memories, like she did with Keith.

First, Dolores cooks a romantic dinner with all of Roger's favourite foods. It brings a smile. Then she gets a plan to sing in a pub, where she discovers the landlord is Roger's old love rival. Perfect. That would get Roger to talk to her again. This gives her the idea to hold a singing party at home with their old group. Then it's the day of the party. While Dolores decorates and cooks, Roger manages the phone, and comments it's like old days. Dolores smiles. That's the idea. The party is a semi success. Roger doesn't sing with her but he does talk to her like he used to.

It's the day of the pub gig. Dolores is all set up to sing with the local band, her group, friends and relatives are all there. Then she's about to sing her signature tune when Roger arrives, and they take over with their duet. He then sees his old love rival and claims his love still for Dolores. She is happy. The plan worked. Back home, they talk about things, and it's revealed that the argument was all about what Dolores just done – sing again. She has to laugh.
