I learned to be as self-sufficient as possible at a young age, and my ego grew out of control. I assumed the world around me was less capable, and I treated everybody like it. I received education in addiction counseling at Seven Cedars in Colorado where I learned one of the most important lessons for my personal and professional life: The art of listening.
