This story is based on a collection of letters that were sent to my dad’s mother between the years 1935 to 1945. My mother and father were with the British Columbia Police. They were based on the coast, and later, Northern B.C. World War II was soon to happen, Harold, my dad, joined the RCAF as soon as he was able. He was sent to England and was in active combat until the War’s end.
The letters begin with a simple life, of living with next to nothing in a society which was on the edge of change. All lead to a conclusion which is the end of the Second World War.
As Americans and Canadians we were so lucky in helping to put a stop to this madness before it reached our shores.
