When Tanja Van Meyas visited Africa as an exchange student during her intern, she befriended Ghetto -a high spirited girl with little formal education. Tanja tried teaching Ghetto how to read but Ghetto was not so interested, so she encouraged her to start a relationship with a certain young man they met at a flea market.

Ghetto is a high spirited girl living in a rail-road apartment with her parents and a kid brother, in a shanty neighbourhood where everyone is struggling to get by; with Tanja's encouraging approvals, she falls in love with a stranger who suddenly disappears after Tanja went back to her country.

On Tanja's return to Europe, she writes Ghetto, asking her about her relationship.
Letter to Tanja is Ghetto's reply to her friend. Telling her of a twist in a series of events, which got to its peak in the wake of a terrorist attack. An attack that lead to the death of her Father and her kid brother; and: brought prospects of a happily ever after.
