Kindred is an action-adeventure novel featuring a vampire Underlord that is feasting on humans as Tribute. Following the Daywalker as he combats the Master.

From the book:
As she walked backwards, she tripped over something in the path and fell backwards. Sitting up, she looked at him as he approached her, with his fangs showing. “You will be a tasty supper for my Master tonight,” he said. She gathered air in her lungs to scream.

Suddenly, the approaching menace flew backwards, bouncing off a tree. Standing where he had just been was the biggest man that Kristy had ever seen. He was easily 6’5” tall and had to be 250 pounds of muscle. He skin was very pale and his white hair flowed along his shoulders. He was dressed in all black, surrounded by a long coat.

He looked down at her and she saw that he had the bluest eyes. She could get lost in those eyes. She heard movement to her side. Looking there, she saw the attacker getting to his feet. The man in front of her never turned. He just pointed and said “stay there!” Those two words seemed to thunder across the night sky.

The attacker growled and started walking forward. Kristy looked back at the big guy and saw a flash of something glinting in the moonlight. The big guy was still standing facing her, looking at her, gazing into her soul. His left arm was pointed at the attacker. In his hand was a huge stainless revolver.
