"Kevin the Brave" is, on the surface, your average everyday fantasy tale about an ordinary boy who meets and falls in love with the local princess. Unfortunately, or some may say fortunately the Princess is carried off by the local dragon. Kevin must then get past his own fears and a few other obstacles along the way. You get the idea. Kevin is your average everyday not exactly hero material that during the course of the tale becomes your average everyday hero. Again no big surprises there. Where Kevin The Brave differs from most similar tales is how the transformation happens. All told with a somewhat irreverent sense of humor that was honed by the likes of the Goon Show (British radio and TV series from the 50's/60's), that famous flying circus and other uniquely British comedic styling.
If you like to read, by that I mean escape from reality, stories that don't tax your mind, that are not filled with extremes of more adult nature (violence et al) that are intended as mindful entertainment, yes there are a few passages intended to give you reason to pause and consider your own foibles, then this is the book for you.
The bottom line is buy Kevin The Brave, enjoy your first read through and then read it again and see what changes for you, most of all just have fun with it.
