Who was Judas? The stock answer is that he was the disciple who betrayed Jesus to the Jewish hierarchy and then hanged himself out of remorse. And that is all. We know virtually nothing of Judas the man.

The Man Behind the Myth paints a fictional picture of Judas: a man of many talents, a man with a humorous side to his character, as well as being one of the most devoted disciples of Jesus of Nazareth (Yeshua).

The story of the relationship between Judas and Yeshua is related by Nehemiah, the fictional brother of Caiaphas the High Priest. It is through Nehemiah, who is in charge of the first century equivalent of Mossad, that Judas meets Yeshua, and it is because of Judas that Nehemiah himself meets the healer and in turn becomes enthralled by him.

But as the unorthodox teachings of Yeshua begin to threaten the beliefs of the Pharisees, and as his popularity among the people makes him (at least in the mind of Caiaphas) the potential catalyst for a revolt against the Romans, Nehemiah and Judas are caught in the middle of a conflict that threatens to destroy all they have come to believe in.

Ultimately, their devotion to Yeshua takes them on a journey they could never have imagined, to lands they never knew existed, to meet people and encounter beliefs beyond their wildest imaginations.
