This is a good book - could not put it down. I also like how the author developed the characters whereby the reader could actually see them grow and change... both Joel and Brian. I could also identify those who have stagnated – Joel’s friend Ted - and superficial people like Cathy. Yet good people abound like Jeff and Carl. This is so much like real life. Thank you for writing this story. I know these people from my own life... only the names have been changed. I admire your talent.
So often our first impression of someone is far from the mark, especially in the case of physical attraction. Joel, who is at first turned off my his roommate Brian's appearance discovers that their are other qualities far more important among friends.
