Beverly vowed never to return after she left the Amish community after a huge row with her step mother. Ten years on, she has little choice but to return after a frantic call from her father. Their bed-and-breakfast was failing and with Beverly's background in finance, her father was convinced she was the only one who could turn things around.
It didn't take long for Beverly to find out that nothing had changed. Janet, her step mother, and she were constantly at odds.
The last straw for Beverly was when Janet suggested bringing in her nephew, David Hilty, to help. David proves to be a pleasant surprise and Beverly finds they have much in common.
Just when Beverly dreams of returning to the community and marrying David, living in a house by the river and having babies, a most unwelcome visitor knocks on her father's door.
Will Beverly ever have the happy life for which she had hoped? Or will something or someone always stand in her way?
