Jamie, a writer, and her husband Cliff had taken their vacation time to make the move into their new home in Redding,California. They saw a historical show by Ken Burns called “Jazz” on TV; a great history of the exciting times of the 1920’s; the show continued with the history of jazz music and bands up to the present and featured many of the great musicians who were the originators and developers of what was to be called Dixie Land Jazz. Jazz music took over Chicago and New York; the night life was loud, wild and beautiful. They decided to finish their vacation out in New Orleans!
They met an older trumpet player named Paul in a little Juke Joint. Jamie and Paul immediately hit it off and Paul agreed to let Jamie write a story about him, He was a treasure of jazz history. Cliff had to return to Redding but Paul agreed to help Jamie find a proper place to stay in the Quarter while she wrote.
A very strong bond developed with Jamie and Paul. Because of Paul, Jamie had many wonderful experiences in her life’s new adventure. She was living the world of Jazz.
Jazz and a Journey has excitement, romance, sadness and intrigue; but most of all; Paul and Jamie were Jazz and a Journey together.
Read Jazz and a Journey and as Jamie and Paul intended, you will read the end with a smile, and maybe a tear.
