Jake is a young boy living in a small tropical seaside town called Coconut. On the first morning of Easter school holidays, he goes on a big adventure with a backpack full of hiking gear and a wish to live off the land.
Along the way, he meets strange people doing strange things as he wanders around town and out into the countryside, where he sees more weird and wonderful things. As the sun goes down, he lights a campfire, and is joined by two aboriginal friends, Ken and Ben. The boys then pitch their tents to make camp together for the night, and all continuing hiking the next day.
The next day, they enter a magical canyon, a fantasy land that leads them to the ocean, where they make camp at sunset in a hut on a hidden beach. But after they are asleep, an angry giant mud crab with huge claws walks out of the sea towards the hut looking for some tasty morsels to eat.
What will become of Jake and his two friends?
