If you are on a mission to discover the depth of Tai Chi you will find much to interest you within these pages.

There are no techniques, no strange sounding names, no chest pounding. Instead you are invited to seek the wisdom within. A collection of articles in which Howard instills his understanding gleaned from his own 43 years of practising Tai Chi and related arts.

A collection of thoughts arising from everyday occurrences that bubbled up from deep within, as he saw with eyes imbued with knowledge gained from countless hours of Tai Chi practise.

Like chaos theory explores outward deep into space, and quantum physics explores deep within the atom. So does Tai Chi have an outer area of learning but also contains an inner understanding that is only cleaned by those prepared to dig deep and venture far.

This wisdom changes the practitioner. Giving palpable physical skills as well as mental attributes that makes the world a more enjoyable and beautiful place to be. The most benefits will be gained be reading each chapter more than once and allowing your own thought processes to go to work on the information given. The practise of Tai Chi has given me so much I feel duty bound to offer what I can to others who are seekers of truth.

For me learning these arts has been like peeling an onion. Each time I stripped back a layer there was another beneath, and oftentimes as I peeled it away it brought tears to my eyes.

To all of you who have the courage and self discipline to reach for the stars and explore the depth of space. To go where others fear to tread, I salute you in anticipation of your journey.

Through the struggles you will undoubtedly encounter, you will gain a wisdom that enhances your life and draws a beauty to your existence that allows you to add your special talent to the pot.

For you are unique. There is no other like you and there never will be another like you in the future. Allow yourself to create an exquisite life, so you will be an example to others.

And remember the journey never stops. A river is no longer a river if it stops flowing. The wind so necessary to the health of our eco system is not longer the wind when it ceases to move. Be not afraid of change for there is no life without it.
