AWPHUL poetry is Articulation With the PHonetic Use of Language. It often employs rhythmical patterns that create a musical flow or quality to the work. It is not limited to simple meter and can use complex meter or even varying forms of meter. It isn't random or off-beat like some contemporary poetry and falls in the great divide between the formalists and the contemporary poets. It attempts to stand out from the "accepted" poetry market that has essentially been rejected by the main stream. It is inspired by the "good bad poetry" that doesn't follow the rules but somehow manages to capture the public's attention even though it is labeled as "bad" by the poetry establishment.

This book is an introduction to the concept of AWPHUL poetry and provides 4 poems illustrating some of it's forms. The first two poems are about frogs with a little bit of humor (modern poets would call it doggerel). The other 2 poems are serious poems highlighting the tragedy of war. These poems help demonstrate the diversity of the Awphul style in both construction and subject matter. It also provides some of the basic rules of the AWPHUL style. As an added bonus it includes a short story geared towards young Christians. The short story is about a young boy who goes medal detecting at the beach and learns a lesson about buried treasure.
