It's been five years since Margie Nickson's arrest. She is now serving a thirty year sentence on the Venus Penal Colony 12. Margie will never forget what her sister, Amber, did for her and is resolved to pay for her crimes. Metal cuffs infused with Eric Wooley's negation keeps the inmates from using their powers, but it doesn't solve the other problems Margie faces at VPC12. Making amends isn't easy when inmates challenge her on a regular basis, testing her will to prove she can be reformed. Nonetheless, Margie is determined to remain neutral. The last thing she wants to do is let her family down again.

Meanwhile, Amber Khalid is working on rebuilding Cronus alongside a new council. With the help of Ares and Finneus, she's finalized a schedule to start working on homes on Cronus. However, not everyone is on board with her leadership which is put to the test when the onyx keystone is deactivated. All of her hard work may be for nothing without a way back to Cronus. To make matters worse, the opal keystone, which opens the portal to VPC12 is also disabled. Now, Eric's standing in the prophecy is called into question when the inmates escape his dampening cuffs and he's unable to reactivate the keystones. What could be potent enough to undo a negator's magic?

Everyone pulls together to set things right, starting with getting their people back and capturing the inmates on the lamb. They catch a break when some of the inmates show up at Market Square. The only problem is... Margie is found in the midst of the trouble. Has Margie regressed back to her old ways? Can Amber capture all the inmates and prove Margie's innocence?
