In the beautiful but remote mountain of South Dakota, Alice Baker has quite literally been dropped in a house she did not want trying to put together the parts of her life that have been rocked for the last fourteen months. After the sudden and admittedly suspicious death of both of her parents she has let her sanity become unraveled and now relies on daily medication to function, but is trying to move on. With two children and her husband wanting to fit into their new town and community Alice attempts to put her attention to them and ignore the almost constant strange noises and actions that are following her in the house. Is it her mind playing tricks on her or is there truly a presence with her in the new home that is seeking something from her? The seemingly innocent being that is determined to pull Alice from a normal life begins to turn forceful and even violent at times in an effort to get her attention. What is the end goal for this entity that will not leave her in peace and can Alice gather needed strength from her lingering resources to battle what no one else can see? Somewhere in the inner most hidden part of her mind, she already knows what it wants.
