Soon after venturing into the online writing community, I found Flash! Friday, complete with weekly story prompts and an enthusiastic group of writers. It was a wonderful way to flex my rusty writing muscles, pushing me to experiment with different genres and voices, and many of the stories in this collection first came to life as entries for that contest. Though they have since been revised, the stories included nevertheless reflect their roots, ranging significantly in style and genre. Some are heartwarming, some fantastical, and some quite dark.
