A biographical narrative of a South African Indian, how he grew up in Johannesburg, and his subsequent emigration to New Zealand.
This story, like its central character, has many flaws, but its saving grace is a reflection of the passion, enthusiasm and caring nature that he weaves between the lines. It comes from the heart, is raw, unsullied by convention and defies many of the rules of what is expected of good writing. Yet it is a great story that needs to be told … if for no other reason than you might have the courage to tell your own.
The purpose of this book is to provide future grandchildren with breadcrumbs of the human condition, through the eyes of an everyday man. Writing this has forced me to get beyond the various roles we play and produce a 'real' book.
Having experienced adversity from a young age, Jeremy has managed to go deep into his psyche to dissect and ultimately obliterate the cliché that human beings become.
