I Just Got Dumped, What Do I Do?

Michael had paused and studied my expression for a while before he let out those heart rending words.

Kerry, sorry I can`t do this anymore.
My heart beat raced to an all time high. Huh? (While I still had chips of potato in my mouth). What are you talking about? I responded.

Michael continued “I want a break! I don't love you anymore” NO! I could not take it anymore.
He kept nagging me over one thing or the other. At that point, I lost control of being me. I wanted to be that perfect girl he met and loved. After he broke up with me, I had these repetitive thoughts of “if only”. “If only I was richer and had my own house, he probably won`t have dumped me… if only I was thinner and looked like one of those celebrities and had better features,” and so on and on.
“Stop thinking of yourselves as a second-rate being, accept your true self and move on with your life” Cathy my best friend had said to me.
