In the first two stories, a 25 year old woman discovers that she is not bisexual but a Femme Lesbian and she finally understands her complicated and discrete sexuality. She loses her first lover, who has shown her who she is, and learns to cope with losing the first "One". She discovers kink and uncovers the intimacy that kink and fantasy gives; getting plunged into the dichotomy that occurs with healing sexual scars while enacting dark fantasies. She reveals an abusive past in a letter to a lover and rediscovers her sexual self after a long depression and a divorce from her beloved wife. The last story is a sexual dream that shows a new way forward.

Although serious subjects and very explicit sex, there is humour and joy used liberally throughout as she traverses epic dyke battlefields.
