Originally published in 1922, 'Huntingtower' by John Buchan is set in Scotland and follows the adventures of Dickson McCunn, a newly retired grocer planning a modest walking holiday in the hills of south-west Scotland, where he meets John Heritage, a young English poet. However, their peaceful, idyllic ramblings soon turn into adventure, when they discover that two woman are being held captive at a local mansion - one of them a Russian princess. This lovely book could be described as an adult fairy-tale, and will prove a great read for all.
