Hunted

An ex-soldier becomes a one-man crime wave, quickly graduating from ram raiding to armed robbery and worse. Metal theft and pick pocketing drain police resources, which are already compromised by an officer being shot. Out of town, sheep are stolen in the first rustling incident for over a century, and the Curnell foxhunt becomes increasingly violent when an influx of new faces appear on the scene. As DI Jim Bennett tries to resolve these issues, his life is complicated further by the arrival of a new DCI.
In the second of the Jim Bennett trilogy, the detective finds himself challenged professionally and emotionally as Welford descends into chaos. He is forced to use all of his experience, and a few tricks learned over the years, in an attempt to make the odds more favourable. DCI ‘Razor’ Ruddock likes things done his way, and woe betide anyone who stands in his way.
As their investigations progress, they find that not all is as simple as it seems, and something very sinister is happening in the normally unexciting midlands town.
