David and Julie Brown are going through a very messy divorce. David is losing the social media war, there’s a restraining order hanging over his head, and he can’t stop himself from obsessing about his estranged wife. On a whim, and without telling anyone, he flies to Nepal to go trekking in the Himalayas.

David, who hates travelling, is unfit and unprepared for this. His diary tells the story of how he struggles to deal with everything the people, the culture and the mountains throw at him on the Annapurna Circuit, one of Nepal's most iconic trekking routes. These challenges, as well as the memories of Julie that haunt him and his uneasy relationship with fellow traveller Lisa, force him to confront the very issues that he’s trying to run away from.

Then, a chance encounter on the hiking trail turns everything upside down, and David must make an agonising choice while staring love and death in the face...
