One thing in life is constant—stressful events. They ambushed us very often. The same time they occurred on purpose—for us to grow and became much stronger individuals.

Such stressful events come down on the author when she went to work (she is a structural engineer) in post colonial Africa to help them to build their independence—to Rwanda, Central Africa, a former Belgium colony, and a French speaking country.

Then, with her then husband and a toddler they fled a life-threatening events in Rwanda—to a neighboring country—Tanzania. With only clothes on their back and a child in their hands.

The problem was: Tanzania was an English speaking country, and the author did not know no one word of English. To get a job and survive she must learn English as soon as possible. She did, in 4 month, and got her 1st job. This stressful event and her afford to learn English as soon as possible has transformed her personality. From a shy, with low self-esteem young women, she grew into a strong and fearful. Tips on how she did it, she share in this story with her readers.
