This book is the raw, emotional portrayal of a young woman coming of age during a time when the world was a simpler and safer place. In October 1974, eighteen-year-old Karen Solomon began what would become an eight-month journey. She and  her twenty-year-old boyfriend Dave flew from Montreal to Munich, the first stop on an odyssey that would take them through Germany, Austria, Yugoslavia, Greece, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and Nepal. Upon her return, her Dad handed her a box filled with the 76 letters she’d written home to family and friends, and told her he wanted a book some day. So 43 years later, Karen fulfilled her dad’s wish and gave him this book on his 90th birthday. Taken from the pages of her original journals and letters and enriched by 150 original color photos, Karen highlights her exciting adventures and experiences with people, food, cultures and customs in an accounting to rival National Geographic.
