Lewis likes being a lone wolf.

Memories of his parent's violent mating are enough to keep him very firmly single. It's far safer to stick to the dream version of his perfect man than to seek a relationship that could turn into a nightmare. And besides with Derek Alateeka as one of his bosses, he really doesn't need any more…inspiration.

When a routine investigation goes to hell and Derek finds himself the only person a terrified young shifter will accept, he happily embraces the thought of building a family of his own. He's especially pleased when the office worker he's been denying his attraction to is available to help.

Maybe something good could come from tragedy after all.
