Zeke shares the fate of many modern college and university graduates: A job in retail and a feeling that he could be doing more with himself. He also finds himself at the end of a long-term relationship, one that he's been in since his first year of university.

So, left with nothing to keep him in his rut, Zeke decides to try something completely different: Teaching English in South Korea.

Zeke finds the work fulfilling enough but it's not long before JiHye (Gee-Hay), one of his co-workers, catches his eye. As they grow closer and closer, Zeke feels like he's finally found what he wants despite his foreign surroundings. But has she?

Inspired by the author's own experience teaching English in South Korea, Heading East, Looking West (Part 3): December & January sees Zeke and JiHye grow closer as Zeke realizes his true feelings for her. This part is approximately 10,000 words.
