I want to take you on a journey that may alter your "mindscape." This is a book of mental snapshots taken while people were caught in a situation not of their own choosing. Poetry provides us an avenue to share the thoughts of others in the hope of increasing understanding as to what we experienced in the world of the incarcerated, along with those "outside" helping. Yes, these poems were written in a prison camp during the years 2015 - 2017. Writing continued in a halfway house from 2017 - 2018, where some of the staff truly tried to help people transition back to reality.

These are poems of passion. I, and the people and events that made these poems possible, are reaching out to you through the beauty of language.

Mass incarceration, especially under the amorphous concepts of conspiracy and intent, must end. One in four Americans has been caught in our prison system at some relatively recent point in time. This trend has become a business, costing taxpayers enormous sums of money.
