Grandpa Frank was my role model. He wanted me to take over the family business which was his farm but I choose another career. He annoyed me with his persistence. I wanted to be like the town kids who didn't have to do chores. Grandpa wanted to work until he couldn't any more. He believed in work to the point of it being his religion. Before I learned to dislike Frank I wanted to be like him. This is a story of Grandpa Frank. He told me stories of his life over and over. I heard them again without letting on that I had heard them before. Frank told the stories as if they were serious problems that he had to deal with and they were serious. He tried to make me into a farmer. He did what he could to make me into a man. I was not a willing learner.
