Isaiah 61:1: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound.”
My eyes racing over the words, my heart pounding harder, I’m still hitting the pipe. I can’t wait to get done with this stuff.
Today is January 10. I felt something unsettling that day.
Guilt and shame are my constant companions. I want to stop, but I can’t. I don’t understand Lord. I really want to stop smoking.
“You can’t get out this way,” Craig shouted at me, obvious disgust and frustration in his voice. “We’ll go over the wall,” I said, without turning around. Please Lord, don’t let me smoke today.
