We are born into this life not knowing what our experiences may be or what the future may hold. God created us all, but allows for each of us, for the most part, to create our own way. There are times when our situation depends solely on the actions of ourselves or another. And then there are times when our circumstances are just handed to us without any explanation at all. We are given situations to deal with the best way we know how, even when we don’t know how. And we need to bless God throughout it all. That is when we can show our real love for Jesus. There are those families who seem to have it all. And there are those who seem to have less. I believe that everyone has their own struggles. God allows this to bring us to Him. We each need to give thanks to God for everything. At my young age, I tried to do this through all of the unfortunate circumstances that my family seemed to endure with each and every sick day of my siblings’ short lives and especially in their deaths. Quite a feat for someone who really didn’t know what life was all about but somehow felt that there truly is a God without ever really knowing Him.
Growing up with siblings that have been born with a potentially fatal disease enlists an extreme lot of emotional turmoil. The whole family is affected to their very core. The unwanted experience thrusts almost more emotions onto one person than even seem possible. It’s hard to imagine and very difficult to be thankful to God throughout the entire situation but yet necessary. Even in the worst of times, we need to remain faithful to God. He is in control and knows how much we can endure. Even through our anger, He stays by our side every step of the way, holding our hand and comforting us along the way even though we may not realize it until much later in life.
