Ordering a cup of coffee, he nursed the dark liquid and watched the different passengers entering. He had always been an excellent people watcher and this time was no different. He was looking for that special someone to enter the train and hoped he’d see her before the train pulled out of the station.
His watchful eye finally paid off. One woman in particular boarding caught his attention. She was tall, with pouty lips, curvaceous figure and long brunette hair trailing down her slender shoulders. She had the darkest eyes Mitch had ever seen on a person. Something about the woman kept drawing Mitch’s gaze to her. It looked as if she was alone and claimed a table right next to Mitch’s.
Mitch decided he had to find a way to strike up a conversation to find out if the woman was alone or maybe meeting someone later. The only thing he could think to do was drop his cloth napkin near her table. Mitch watched the cloth flutter to the floor toward her chair as he kept his fingers crossed over the outcome.
The dark eyed woman quickly bent down to retrieve it just as Mitch leaned forward in his chair. Their hands accidentally touched and Mitch felt a fiery response flood through him. A spark was definitely there and he hadn’t missed the sizzle of electricity traveling up his arm with electric speed.
“Thanks, for picking up the napkin,” Mitch said, glancing fully into the midnight stare of the woman only inches from his own.
